The Pact, Chapter 1

The Pact
1st Blog Post

Before I dive into chapters 1. let me say a few things about the introduction. Guys, this story is one that could honestly change your life. I know that reading Success For Teens at times felt like a chore, but here are three guys who some of the same principals to completely alter the course of their lives. The introduction challenges us, the readers, to put ourselves in their shoes. This book can be as much about you as it is about the three doctors. "Where we lived, hustlers reigned, and it was easy to follow their example... Each of us experienced friendships that could have destroyed our lives...friendships that require them to prove their toughness and manhood daily, eve at the risk of losing their own lives." Come on does that sound familiar, or what? Each of you has the choice to provide "one another with a kind of positive peer pressure." On the other hand you also have the power to tear each other down. Do you want to change your families lives and be a positve force in this world? Sam, George, and Rameck answered yes to that question, but had no idea how hard it would actually be. Still they succeeded mightily, and their example is our's to follow.

Chapter 1
First of all, how crazy is it that George's Mom is from a small rural town in South Carolina named Warrenton! Now George's mom struggled growing up in a family that had nothing, not even opportunity. How do you think that affected the way she raised her kids? Do you think she was going to let them waste opportunities? And what a feeling of success she must have had when the family moved out of the projects. Although, they could still see their old building from the back window. They were out of the projects, but do you really think they were away from the influence of the projects?
George did not have much of a father figure to look up to, but he was not without individuals who positively shaped his life. He even says at one point that these neighbors, teachers, and friends saved his life. Who are these people in your life?

Thoughts on Chapter 2 are soon to come, Read Smart! Have fun!
